Day 1: Hanoi Arrival (D)
Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, your guide and private car will meet and transfer to your hotel for check-in.
At night, you will enjoy Vietnamese traditional dishes with various flavors at a local restaurant.
The rest of the night is at your leisure.
Day 2: Hanoi – Mai Chau (B/L/D)
07:00 – Enjoy breakfast at hotel.
08:00 – Depart for Mai Chau. Contemplate the beauty of the sloping mountains and terraced paddy fields, either sparking in the sunlight or dimly eerie in the thick fog.
On the way, stop at Thung Khe pass – the finest place to capture a fantastic panorama of Mai Chau.
12:00 – Relax and have an authentic lunch with a local family of the Thai tribe.
13:00 – Biking tour with guide through terraced rice paddies and small villages, discovering the natural beauty of the valley and encountering the culture of the ethnic minority Thai people on our visits Mai Chau beautiful ethnic villages including Nhot, Pom Coong, Lac, Van villages. You will have a chance to interact with friendly local people and discover Thai culture. Total cycling time is approximately 3 hours on flat village paths.
16:00 – Return to the bus and transfer to Mai Hich.
16:30 – Check in homestay – an alternative and affordable way to stay. When you stay in a homestay, you expericence something that you won’t in other forms of accommodation, not only do you meet the local people, you get to live with them too. It’s a way to live a destination, not just visit it.
19:00 – After dinner with local family, participate in Vietnamese Bamboo dance – a traditional dance of Thai minority, singing and fire camping.
Over night in stilts house at Mai Hich.
Day 3: Hanoi City Tour – Sapa Departure (B/L/D)
07:00 – Start the day with a simple breakfast with your host family.
08:00 – Take your bus to return to Hanoi.
12:00 – Lunch at a local restaurant in Hanoi.
13:00 – Start a 3-hour Hanoi city tour. Visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum – an important historical attraction of Hanoi, built to honor President Ho Chi Minh. There, you can explore the architectural and historical aspects of Uncle Ho’s final resting-place.
Just next door is Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts constructed in a corner of the Presidential Palace’s gardens, in front of a carp pond where where the leader Ho Chi Minh spent the last part of his life.
Lying to one side of the Mausoleum is the One Pillar Pagoda, which was founded by King Ly Thai To in 1049 – the structure has become an important symbol for the people of Hanoi.
Then continue on to the Buddhist Tran Quoc Pagoda at West lake (One of the oldest pagodas in Vietnam).
16:00 – Depart for Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Ha Long Bay is a beautiful natural wonder in northern Vietnam. The Bay is dotted with 1,600 limestone islands and islets and covers an area of over 1500 square km. Travel time is approximately 3.5 hours including a short visit to a center for the handicapped people in Bac Ninh province.
Dine at a local restaurant.
Around 20:30, arrive at hotel in Quang Ninh, check in and relax.
Day 4: Halong Bay on cruise – Hanoi – Departure (B/L)
07:00 – Enjoy breakfast at hotel and check out.
08:00 – Take 4-hour Halong bay cruise trip – a spectacular seascape sculpted by nature comprised of multitude of limestone islands and islets rising from the sea, in a variety of sizes and shapes. Kissing Rocks – the most extensive and best known example of marine-invaded tower karst in the world. They are unique islets with the shape of two giant chickens on Halong Bay. One has the shape of a rooster, and the other looks similar to a hen.
Later, see Thien Cung Grotto, Dau Go Cave – two of the most beautiful caves in Halong Bay.
Lunch will be served on board with fresh seafood.
12:30 – Come back to the Halong tourism port. Take your bus to transfer to airport. End tour.
